Rooted in the Himalayas, our products are made from foraged stinging nettle, and we prioritize sustainable packaging to minimize our impact on nature.
Hi, I’m Shazia. My journey began in a media agency, where I worked for a few years before my passion for travel took over. I explored around 25 countries, experiencing the incredible diversity and surprising similarities of cultures around the world. These experiences inspired me to share the joy of travel with others, leading to a career switch to trip-leading—my dream job, where I was paid to travel the world.
I was in Egypt when the news of the COVID-19 lockdown broke, and I rushed back to India, spending eight months in isolation. When the world began to reopen, I headed to Manali for a short trip with two friends. What was meant to be a week-long getaway turned into a life-changing decision—Manali became my forever home.
I spent the first two years exploring the local region, discovering the same incredible diversity and surprising similarities between villages that I once found between countries. As I immersed myself in the mountains, my appreciation for them deepened, and I began to see this place as my permanent home.
During my time here, I kept encountering one peculiar plant with an extremely sharp sting—those who have been stung by stinging nettle know the sensation all too well. My curiosity about this plant grew with every sting, leading me to extensive research. I was amazed to learn about its remarkable nutritional value, making it one of the best superfoods. Locals in Himachal and Uttarakhand have been using stinging nettle in their diet for generations, and I was inspired to share its incredible benefits with a wider audience.
This inspiration led to the creation of Bushcraft Organics. Witnessing the effects of climate change firsthand, it was essential to build a brand that respects and protects the environment.
That’s how Bushcraft Organics was born—a blend of tradition, sustainability, and a love for the mountains.
